Construction Superintendent
RKA Construction is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Superintendent to join our growing team in Oxford, MS. This role is responsible for the daily on-site supervision of residential and commercial projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship, schedule adherence, trade coordination, and clear communication from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Jobsite Oversight

Visit each assigned jobsite daily to manage and monitor progress

Open and close jobsite according to security and safety protocols

Ensure subcontractors and vendors are on-site and performing as scheduled

Maintain clean, organized, and protected jobsites at all times

Review and confirm materials are on-site prior to trade partner arrival

Ensure protection of all finishes and property, including new installations within 24 hours

Understand all project details including design intent and material selections

Document quality control and punch list progress

Conduct thorough weekly inspections to ensure quality and completeness
Scheduling

Maintain and manage 8-week critical path schedules for all projects

Notify trade partners 4 weeks in advance with follow-ups at 3 weeks, 2 weeks, 1 week, and 1–2 days prior

Coordinate work both on and off the critical path efficiently

Implement RKA’s punch out procedures at the appropriate stage of each project

Schedule quality control walkthroughs with the General Superintendent as needed
Communication

Serve as the main on-site point of contact for clients, architects, and designers

Provide weekly project updates to homeowners

Communicate regularly with office staff regarding schedules, updates, and budget-related items

Keep the General Superintendent informed of any trade partner issues or scheduling conflicts

Remain accessible and responsive via phone, email, and text
Technology & Coordination

Leverage project management software and tools to coordinate with the project manager and internal teams

Uphold RKA Construction’s standards of care, professionalism, and urgency in all aspects of the work
Qualifications

Proven experience in residential and/or commercial construction supervision

Strong organizational and communication skills

Proficiency with construction scheduling and management software

Ability to read and interpret plans, documents, and material specifications

Proactive problem solver with attention to detail and commitment to quality
